Blossoming, Series two
In this watercolor series, May Ling explores the traditional form of Chinese
watercolor while making her own take on the ancient art form. Using
traditional materials such as rice paper, Chinese watercolor pigments, and
bamboo brushes, she creates colorful peony paintings in an homage to
her heritage. With this process, she connects with and appreciates her
culture, while also using her own unique mixed style of Eastern and Western
influences.
